I Want to Learn More About Buddhism

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying Course

The core principles taught in Buddhism, such as impermanence, karma and interdependence are presented in Sogyal Rinpoche’s book and explored in courses and video teachings based on the book.

01 – Learn More

Rigpa offers a number of courses, weekends and self-study options to enable you to discover and understand the key principles of Buddhism.

02 – For Families

Rigpé Yeshé programme for families, children and teenagers, offers a meaningful space to explore universal values, develop inner qualities, and connect with others—inspired by the practical and timeless wisdom of the Buddhist tradition.

Discover our programmes for families and kids.

03 – Death & Dying

Death is about life. The best time to prepare is now. What would happen if we turned towards the reality of death with kindness and compassion? Can we learn to make peace with it? Can we live more open-heartedly and help others die with less fear?

I’m an Established Student of Buddhism

For anyone who wishes to follow the Buddhist path fully, Rigpa offers a complete path of study and practice according to the Nyingma, or ‘Ancient’ school of Tibetan Buddhism.

If you’re a student from another Buddhist sangha, you’re very welcome to join events and transmissions in Rigpa or explore self-study materials available on the online platform Prajna as a support to your study and practice.

Each local Rigpa centre offers courses in person and online at all stages of the Buddhist path. Get in contact with the centre near you or in your language to find out more.

Explore

Just as the Buddha taught in different ways for different people, Rigpa offers a range of ways to explore the Buddha’s teachings according to your individual interests and needs. Whether you want to apply the wisdom and compassion of Buddhism in your daily life to deal with stress and life’s daily challenges, or you aspire to follow the Buddhist path in its entirety, we invite you to explore the depth of this tradition and its potential to bring about profound change.

Find Community

When we gather together—in courses, retreats and online—our experience of the Buddha’s teachings is deepened and enriched through the simple act of sharing it with others. We meet new friends, connect with others who may become invaluable friends and companions—walking the path with us, sharing our experiences, challenges and growth.

Follow a Lineage

Rigpa offers the opportunity to meet and be guided by many different living teachers of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition (both Tibetan and Westerners) who possess not only in-depth knowledge and realisation but also deep concern for making the teachings relevant to us now, in this age

In particular, study and practice in Rigpa follows the Nyingma, or ‘Ancient’ school of Tibetan Buddhism that dates back to the eighth century when Guru Padmasambhava established the Buddhadharma in Tibet.
