Jennifer Lewis-Drew

Jennifer Lewis Drew is a writer, filmmaker and meditation teacher. She studied and practised for more than 30 years under the guidance of Sogyal Rinpoche. A near-death experience led Jennifer to leave her career in television news in 1987 and embark on a year-long pilgrimage throughout Asia. There, an audience with Kyabjé Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche in Nepal pointed her to Tibetan Buddhism. Jennifer co-founded the Western New York Chapter of the US Tibet Committee in 1990, to raise awareness about the human rights violations—she lectured on threats to the Tibetan Buddhist way of life. Her photographic exhibition, “Sacred Circles: Buddhist Life in Tibet,” has been displayed in museums and galleries, and the Buffalo International Airport. Jennifer lives near Buffalo, New York with her husband, also a Buddhist practitioner.
